This was My Home Town
If you aren't a skier there isn't much to do in the winter.
The Lucy Museum is in Jamestown. On Spring Street.
Jamestown, New York is where Lucille Ball first began her acting career, so this museum is there to honor her, as well as Desi. They have a small area in the back in which they show some of Lucy's history, which is interesting. Overall, the museum is small, but they have many of the actual costumes, props, etc. from the show with information about...more
If you remember the original TV series then you're old enough to enjoy this place.A couple of rooms packed with artifacts and memoribilia, sets and props from the TV series, posters, postcards. There is a host/hostess who has a spiel about the famous couple and the TV show. And then you are left to self-tour all the stuff. It costs $5 and takes less...more
The Reg Lenna Civic Center is where Lucille Ball, from "I Love Lucy" first began her acting and comedy career. You can set up a tour of the building and its history, which is quite interesting, if you want to learn about the theatre. However, the theatre is still operating as a theatre, so you can also purchase tickets to see a play! It's a nice...more
The Chautauqua Institute is a private estate that contains gorgeous victorian homes. The estate has an ampitheater, hotel, and a museum just to name a few. Be prepared to pay a small fee to enter if you are visiting during the summer season. Also, call and check if any special concerts or lectures will be going on the day you choose to visit...more

Lena's pizza is GOOD for this area , highly overrated however and sorely lacking in customer service skills . I have had 2 bad experiences with Lena's and will no longer be a customer . The Cherry Lounge has much better wings and for pizza I will be going to Tasta Pizza in Falconer which actually delivers and is NOT RUDE to customers ! I won't...more
This is an American breakfast-lunch-dinner restaurant chain. They are very good at making people comfortable even when the place is very busy. The menu is huge and I won't copy it here.... see the wbsite below for its details. The portions are filling and the price is very reasonable. When we go traveling, Bob Evans and Applebees are two of our...more
The restaurant can be seen in the picture on my home page of Jamestown. It's the big blue building right on the shoreline. The restaurant has a beautiful view and is positioned right next to the ferry that you can take across the lake with your car. Also, if your out for a day of boating there is docking space if you get a little hungry. The casino...more
The Q is a Sports bar combined with a night club. There are 2 separate bars and 2 separate stages. The Sports bar side is open at 11am everyday and closes at 2am. You can get to Jamestown in many ways. Most people arrive by car. There is no longer train service. Chautauqua County Airport is 2-3 miles North of the City. USAIR Express has several flights in and out from Pittsburg each day. The airport crew does a great job keeping the Airport open in the snow we get during the winter. The airport Restraunt has...more
you can fly into the Jamestown Chautauqua Airport.THEY GOT RID OF THE CITY BUS SYSTEM....the leadership of Jamestown sucks, and that is why the city is going down hill. Does this make sense....people are leaving, so raise taxes, and cancel services, and people will stay.more

Jamestown New York has some good places to shop but in the Downtown they make a living off ticketing cars at parking meters. I recomend going to Lakewood New York shopping and eating. They have a Mall and you dont have to worry about parking tickets. A walk through Jamestown shows it consist of alot of second hand shops and junk stores. Chautauqua...more
Midway park is highly overrated. It has a small beach along with a small amusement park. Unless you have a child that is within the age vacinity of 7 I doubt your family will enjoy the park. Many of the rides are geared towards smaller children and the park needs to be updated. If you must go to midway make sure to bring a swimsuit so you can at...more
The town of Jamestown has practically nothing interesting in it unless your a fan of Lucielle Ball. She was born there and there are several tributes to that. Anything good about jamestown isn't in the town it's the great sites around this area. Avoid the city itself if it can even be called a city, it's more like a big hole. Alot of the places I...more

Picture is Horse and Buggy ride at the Lucy Fest. Only $2 for about a 4 block ride through Jamestown. I sent My 2 Sons on the Ride so I could take the Pictures of the Stomping without them goofing around. The Street wasn't shut off so there was also cars on it. My Son said that a Car following the Slow Horse and buggy finally passed them and gave...more
This is The Reggie Lenna Civic Center. I remember this because it was the Palace Movie Theater when I was a Kid and I saw my First movies here. Reggie Lenna was the Owner of the Blackstone corp that made Radiators for Chysler and Washing Machines. It was one of the Biggest employers in the Jamestown Area. The Reg has many shows to see and Schools...more

It also has a guide that conects on a rail so you dont have to steer as you go up and down the aisle and from floor slot to upper slots. You ware a safty harness that is very uncomfortable and is connected to the machine by a...more
