As soon as they started building the Ice Castle it got warm and rainned. A dedicated group of people were able to rebuild it and the weekend got super cold. They got a little snow to cover up the mud on the ground so it went well.
Take a ride on the Chautauqua Belle
The Chautauqua Belle is one of four remaining steamships in the US. Our ride was an enjoyable way to spend some afternoon time - about and hour and forty-five minutes, and the commentary was like a history lesson of Lake Chautauqua. The ship launches from Mayville and cruises up to the Chautauqua institute and then back. Along the way you'll see people enjoying the lake on everything from Jet Ski's to canoes.
The fee is $20 for adults, $10 for kids and free for those under 2 years of age. There is a bar on board and snacks and beverages are available on the boat. Parking at the launch site is available for free.
