It is one of Westchester County's most popular park. There are sections of it that was once a casino and there is a former German beer garden there as well. At the time of visit, there were a lot of picnic tables with people have barbeques. One was so large that it was obviously a family reunion from people from Guyana. People came in a few buses to house the entire reunion. There is a private beach on the premises for County residents.
Ferni and I have come here a couple of times and honestly will say it is not one of our favorite cinemas. The theatre gets very crowded especially during the first weekend of a new screenig and quite honestly, there are too many "undesirables" hanging in and around the theatre.
With this said, they usually have the newest screenings of the latest movies.
Check out their website for movie listings and times.
Hudson Park is one of those places we frequent. They have benches along the beach and some small walking paths that lead from the parking lot to the shores. The name aside this is on Long Island Sound and not the Hudson River which would be impossible from New Rochelle.
They also have a small playground with a couple of swings that are always fun if there are not any kids around. Not that kids are an issue but no adult should take up a swing when a child is wanting one.
All is all a nice place to come relax on a nice spring day in the evening.
New Roc City has everyting you could want when it comes to enetertanment and some food options. New Roc City has: Imax, an 18 theatre movie complex, Bowling, Ice skating, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees and Jani.
We have often come to New Roc City to see a flick and grab a bite to eat. Parking is easy and convienent. It's only a short drive from where we live right off of I-95 so we can come whenever we choose.
Once you've seen a movie in Imax you never want to go to the regular theatre ever again. My first experience with Imax was when we saw 300. It was an incredible movie. Having the screen so large and the sound quality so enhanced made it a great movie experience. We saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoneix here in Imax 3D. Wow! It was incredible...you felt as if you were flying with them on their brooms thorugh London.
There is a shore line in New Rochelle and if it is accessible you can get some great views of the bird sanctuary that is across the water.
