Favorite thing: A wonderful place to spend a day, the South Street Seaport offers a preserved historic district, an old seaport. It is located down Fulton Street towards Pier 17.

There are many ships that you may tour for which there is an admission fee. The fee covers all of the ships. The area is free to walk around in.

Fondest memory: Pier 17 is filled with shops and restaurants of all sorts. It is just like a mall. It even has a boardwalk for strolling.

There is a one hour Seaport Liberty Cruise around New York Harbor that is offered here.

There are buskers around to entertain you....magicians, jugglers, even a living Statue of Liberty.

me at the port in NYC

Favorite thing: So you've decided you want to go see the big Apple and now you're telling everyone, and they're telling you everything they know about the city. And I don't think I have to list the things they're telling you.
Please all I ask of you is to enjoy the city as if it was completely new to you in every way. No assumptions, no precautions, no worries. Experience every part of it without thinking in the back of your head that you're going to get mobbed or pick pocketed or whistled at. Because like in every large city in the world, these things might occur. New York through the eyes of some people might have a bad reputation, try building your own opinion.

Favorite thing: Venture to SOUTH STREET SEAPORT which is located at the financial district. A waterfront community with remarkable views of the New York & it's surrounding areas, it is a great place to be at especially for people watching. In addition, it has a world class maritime museum & more than 100 shops, bars & restaurants. Just the place to be for a relaxing evening!

    South Street Seaport

Favorite thing: The Seaport is within walking distance of Wall Street and Lower Manhattan's many tourist destinations, and is listed as one of New York City's five top attractions. Street performers, outdoor concerts, landmark buildings, excursion vessels, historic ships, the holiday Chorus Tree, breathtaking views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty create a unique waterfront environment you will find only at The Seaport.

come to SOUTH STREET SEAPORT ...

Favorite thing: come to SOUTH STREET SEAPORT and PIER 17 to chill out.

Somewhat like SanFran's famed Fisherman's Wharf, you can find loads of activities to do here...from visiting exhibition galleries to taking pictures of historic ships at the harbor... and SHOPPING. Yeah, you can even catch a glimpse of the beautiful BROOKLYN BRIDGE from here.

P.S. PIER 17 is today a beautiful indoor mall filled with 3 great floors of some of my favorite stores - The Limited, Gap, Express and Banana Republic amongst others. This is just P-E-R-F-E-C-T!
