Coyote Ugly, New York City
A pretty cool place. We were here after dinner, which means we were a little tooned already and the girls dancing on the bar kind of helped things along. Oh ya, the bartenders are (like in the movie) more like bar-dancers/cheerleaders. They get the (good-looking, female) partons to dance on the bar, too...nice touch.
Tequila is watered down and the shot glasses hold less than you'd guess from their outward apprearance but, nonetheless, does the job quite well.
Dress Code: Anything goes. More down-home the better, it seems.
After seeing the (pretty awful) film of the same name, I was sure that the Saloon would be the No.1 tourist trap of all time.
Unbelievably this my No.1 bar in NYC. At $4 a pint, bottle or short, it's also one of the cheapest.
OK, if you've been bred on the cocktail bars of Mid-Upper Manhatten, then this probably isn't the best place for you. But if you don't mind a bit of spit and sawdust and mixing with real New Yorkers (as opposed to the pimps and spivs that infest Times Square) then give it a go.
To get the full deal with the bartenders linedancing on the bar in a packed Saloon it's best to go on a Friday or Saturday night. If you just want a few photos to tick it off the to-do list then go Monday - Thursday between 2 & 4pm. There'll just be you, the (gorgeous!) bartender and a couple of locals.
Hog's n' Heffers up on Washington Street does much the same thing, though I had to show I.D. of age to the intimidating bouncer on the door (I'm 32!!!!!!!) the bar's far smaller and the whole atmosphere is less friendly.
Dress Code: Come as you are.
Have you ever seen the movie Coyote Uggly???
Well, i did, an tell you something, I loved it. I swore, this is the place for me, to go! And I did to celebrate my 30th bitthday... What a night to remember...
A little, dirty place, the ceeling covered with braws, just like the girls behind the bar ;-))
Crazy place to get busted and entertained....
check out the webpage, an in case you go there, don´t forget to order the special of the house "boddyshot" ;-))
Dress Code: come as you are
I really don't know how to describe this bar, but a place I wouldn't let the kids go.
Dress Code: It's all good. Trashier the better.
