Sophie's, New York City

Sophie's is a fantastic place if you are feeling judgemental and in the mood to laugh at NYU students (which by the way is easy to do.) This is the kind of place that after 2 or so in the morning will let you smoke inside while drinking really strong mixed drinks and playing pool in the back next to the jukebox. It's fun, if a little class-less. Definately for the younger travelers.

Dress Code: Whatever you feel like wearing, although you might get a few evil eyes if your clothing is slightly less than hipster status.

Ah...dear Sophies. With the awesome pool table, the crowded tables and chairs, the cheap drinks, and the world's best juke box...what else could you ask for?

There's no food served here, but after losing oneselves in the immense variety of the music selection, you'll forget about food in no time at all.

Dress Code: Anything goes! really, who cares! We're here for the booze and music, and maybe a game of pool!

One of the few cheap bars left in the East Viliage, Sophie's is a great place to go for a few drinks. mix drinks are $4.50, pitchers start at $10. Pool Table and Excelent jukebox. This bike messenger bar managed too keep the vibe friendly, laid back, yet full of energy. Totally check it out

The best jukebox in the world. Very alternative (I am starting to hate that word)...everything from Blues to Country (johnny cash) to Nick Cave to Radiohead to obscure punk rock bands from around the country to Pil...you get the idea. The best juke box. I can almost guarantee that they will have what you are in the mood to hear.
