D finally has a camera again

Luggage and bags: This was one of the shortest trips I've ever done so it was nice to travel with just carry on luggage. Two small day packs got us through our two days in NYC.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: It was a winter trip to NYC, so we brought long underwear, lots of layers and perhaps most importantly hats! Do not underestimate how important a hat is in cold weather!

Photo Equipment: A wide angle is important for city photography but a great zoom is as well, allowing you to get great shots of buildings from afar. D was traveling with a camera for the first time in years and she got some great shots with her Canon Power Shot, too.

Miscellaneous: This trip was about taking D to New York City as a newly sworn-in US citizen. It was exciting and fun. Doing the simplest things with her is always a revelation. It was also about meeting our great friends and spending some time with them. Thanks to Lorie & TiNk for making it such a fun trip.

  • Digital Camera a must!

Luggage and bags: Best to travel with a small size backpack. Large bags are not a good idea since to enter many places in New York they won't allow mid to large bags.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Sneakers are best for walking New York.

Photo Equipment: Don't forget your digital camera with at least 128mb so you can get alot of pics. If you know you are going to be out all day get 256mb to know you can get at least 300 pics (number of pics depends on how many megapixels your camera is)

    Luggage and bags: try to bring just the minimum;
then you could buy everything in NYC , Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn or New Jersey

Here, it is the city of travellers, the luggages are cheap.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Ladies, here are lot of cloths shops and sales in summer and in winter...

Photo Equipment: NB: you must come here to buy what you need, lots of choice and the prices are very good for Camera, HI FI, video, computers, etc...!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: picnic in Central Park or Battery Park or on the beach (Consney Island)

Miscellaneous: Rosie Flores is a good singer,
I knew also a singer with this name in PERU...

Luggage and bags: Take a LARGE bag with very little in it. You'll need the space for the bargains to be bought!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Best tip I can give is Comfortable Shoes. If you really want to see this place you need to walk. We walked for miles, lots of miles. I couldn't have managed this without my trusty trainers.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Unless you're on prescribed medication, there's nothing I can think of that you can't obtain in New York.

Photo Equipment: I'm no David Bailey so can't provide any useful info on photo equipment. We took our digital video camera which is very small, so takes little luggage room.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: One big tip--bring an umbrella. We both ended up buying umbrellas in NYC as the weather forcast only included rain, rain, and rain. As you will be walking a lot while exploring New York, an umbrella and comfortable walking shoes are a must.

Photo Equipment: I don't think there are any real limitations on the type of camera you want to bring. I always bring one of those one-use cameras to supplement my SLR. Unfortunately I ending up using the one-use camera more frequently on this trip. With all of the rainy weather we had, I did not want to get caught in a downpour with my SLR. Plus, it is rather hard to hold an umbrella and take a decent photo with that type of camera. Otherwise, bring a lot of film. There is no shortage of fascinating pictures waiting to be taken.

Broadway, New York City, NY, USA.

Photo Equipment: All pictures I've taken on land in Manhattan are with a relatively cheap (£69 in December, 2003) Fuji ZoomDate 1000 35mm camera with (very good) Kodak HD 200 film, processed by Bonusprint.
