pricey restaurant due to it's celebrity chef owned status of Bobby Flay (also known as one of the Iron Chefs America) hence the crowd inside would hardly been the scrooge type hehehe. This concept restaurant has two branches, one here in manhattan and one in Connecticut. This place is near the Iconic Times Square Area and This Restaurant concept is classic american regional cuisine with bold flavors like steaks which are dry spiced rubbed and spicy goodness. their raw bar is one of the highlights with stuffs like crab coconut, shellfish cocktails, freshly shucked oysters. they also have plates of the day specials and entrees like burger americain, lobster club sandwich and steak tartare.

An American brasserie, Bar Americain celebrates the foods of America with a healthy dose of the bold flavors Bobby Flay is most known for.
With a menu that ranges from Shrimp-Tomatillo, Crab-Coconut and Lobster-Avocado Shellfish Cocktails to Smoked Chicken with Hatch Green Chile Spoonbread and Black Pepper Vinegar, Bobby combines his American menu with the energetic fast pace of the time-honored European brasserie.
The 200-seat restaurant, designed by Rockwell Group, features traditional brasserie elements while mixing "Hollywood" banquettes in the dining room. Bar Americain's mezzanine provides an ideal vantage point for people watching with a slight respite from the bustle of the main floor below
Favorite Dish: a lot like the sea food chowder (pronounced chow da by bostonians) by bobby flay at $ 14 an order. Hot Smoked Salmon with potato Hash at $ 25, Spiced Rub NY Strip Steak (8 hounces) at $ 31 and more.

Not to discredit Bar American, but by memory this was one of our favourite meals in New York, and it’ll be yours too if you’ve aperitif beforehand in the Rainbow Room.
‘Straight down the line’ contemporary New York menu, exceptional OTT American service and an unusually spacious design set this place out as an instant winner.
