This oasis for seafood lovers, set amid lofty columns and marble, is home to what the 2001 Zagat Survey ranks as 14th amongst New Yorker's top 50 favorite restaurants and one of the city's best people watching locales. Time Out New York voted it the City's "Best Seafood Restaurant," in 1998. Located in the heart of Union Square, New York City's restaurant Mecca, guests at Blue Water Grill can feast on a variety of seafood delicacies, like Crispy Point Judith Calamari or the lavish cold Seafood Castle -- three generous tiers of chilled lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams and oysters. Other tempting selections include an inviting Pan-Roasted Pacific Mahi Mahi with Lobster Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus and the Ginger-Soy Lacquered Chilean Sea Bass with Chinese Broccoli, Sticky Rice, and Wasabi Vinaigrette. Noted New York Magazine critic Gael Greene raves about "the tenderness of giant lobsters...and service without attitude". Just over five years old, the restaurant reels in crowds with an enticing menu of fresh fish recipes, an inviting outdoor café and a bustling oyster bar where taste and variety abound. Music fans can satisfy their appetite for jazz with the 150-seat jazz club, featuring nightly entertainment, the restaurant's full dinner menu, and an impressive cigar roster. Wine enthusiasts can indulge in a list commended by the 2000 Zagat Survey and winner of the 1999 Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator.

THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS, I LIKE SUSHI ONCE IN A WHILE BUT WHEN I DO HAVE IT I AM NEVER DISAPPOINTED WHEN I GO TO BLUE WATER GRILL. THE DRINKS ARE GOOD TO. THE ATMOSPHERE IS A RELAXED AMBIENCE ITS ALMOST A LITTLE GET AWAY OUT OF THE MIDST OF THE HUSSLE AND BUSTLE OF MIDTOWN - THE PRICE IS NOT SO BAD EITHER!!
I DONT HAVE ONE, MOST OF THE DISHES I HAVE HAD HAVE BEEN DELICIOUS Leave a Comment

Blue Water Grill isn't so new anymore, and some people claim it's overrated, too hyped and not very good. I highly disagree. Yes, it's crowded, can be loud, a bit pretentious too, but if you're with good people and enjoying yourself, it's going to be a great experience and a wonderful meal. However, as the title says, make reservations- even on a Monday night!
If you like seafood, this is it! It's a good mix of American, Pan-Asian and nouvelle Sushi. Some good dishes include the calamari appetizers, the pear-goat cheese salad is amazing, and any of their sushi specials are surprisingly good for a non-exclusive Japanese restaurant. Some fish come encrusted with everything from peppercorns to cranberries. If you have room for dessert, do it! If you aren't sure, make room. It's worth it. (Do a couple of extra sets at the gym tomorrow.)
