Capital Grille, New York City

This is a very upscale restaurant, and eating here is an experience that I would have never imagined, the steaks were excellent and I could not have asked for a better birthday meal.
As I mentioned, it is very pricey, but if you have the money, it is worth it.

Favorite Dish: Try the Lobster Mac & Cheese, it's to die for.

There are about 30+ around the US, and they feature a "dining experience". The specialty is steaks, but they ahve a wide array of Sandwiches and soups for lunch and seafoods and chops besides.

Favorite Dish: Only had the caesar salad and girlled chicken to sample. It was good.

The Capital Grille is a steakhouse franchise located in several locations around the United States. I went to the one in Manhattan, housed on the ground floor of the Chrysler Building (next to where I was staying).

After checking into my hotel, we walked across the street to Capital Grille without a reservation and the place was packed so I had to wait over ½hr before we were seated by not one but two over enthusiastic wait staff. Although the place was very busy, they maintained their friendliness & humor. The decor inside included portraits of famous New Yorkers and dark furnishing.

My dinner started with a unique lobster bisque and moved on to a porterhouse steak (medium). Dessert was non other than the New York cheesecake that had a lovely texture & melted in my mouth.

The restaurant is not a place I'd recommend to have a romantic dinner because it's full of people coming in from the office to have dinner and was quite noisy. However, the food was tasty & came in big portions. Last but not least, the service is extraordinarily friendly.

The Capital Grille offers one of the best dining atmospheres on 42nd street. Located in the Trylon Towers of the Chrysler center, it offers amazing food, lively atmosphere, and superb and attentive service. The restaurant is a chain, but it's a very classy chain. They've got an enormous wine list which means you should have no trouble finding something you like. Vegetarians however should probably not visit unless you're happy with a salad or a compilation of side dishes (which are very good in their own right--asparagus was yummy!) A visit to this restaurant will be most satisfying!

Favorite Dish: Lobster Bisque is stupendous! Coconut Cream Pie is fabulous, their steaks are awesome. I also had the Lobster & Crab burger, notthing to write home about.
