Clinton St. Baking Company was recommended to us for killer breakfasts, and it was so good, we went back twice! Early or very late arrival is a must if you want to miss the line-ups and the crowds. Also a local told us not to go on a weekend if you can help it. We found if you got there around 8:15 am ( when it opens) or about 11:30 for breakfast, you didn't have to wait or had a very short wait.

The waistaff at the restaurant are pleasant, quick and efficient, quite admirable considering the tight corners and small spaces they have to fit into. Dining space is pretty tight, so if you're not a friendly person or picky about personal space and people oggling what you're eating this place might not be for you. The decor is pretty much non-descript diner, and a bit worn; this is totally understandable considering the huge amount of people that move through on a daily basis.

Favorite Dish: A very helpful local recommended to us the Wild Mushroom Scramble with Goat Cheese, plus the Blueberry Pancakes. The mushroom scramble was chock full of wild mushrooms and was made creamy and rich and flavorful with the goat cheese, a real winner. The pancakes were very good, light and fluffy -- however you order them because you get the maple butter on the side. A small pitcher of sweet, warm, buttery, cararmel-y, maple goodness that can transport you out of the deepest darkest, doldrums. Whatever you pick though, on the menu, I can guarantee you'll like! it's all good -- we took home some apple pie and cookies and were very impressed.

This one I haven't tried, but it sounds so good that I put it on my list of places to go based on reviews at the citysearch website. It sounds delicious. See weblink for menu and prices.
