If you're strolling around the Village and want to have a nice excuse to stop and rest pass by this bakery. There is a huge variety of French and Italian pastries, Coffe, and in the warm weather, gelato (Italain ices). In my opinion not quite as good as Veniero's (also one of my tips) but a nice 2nd choice.
Updated 2.08: They have now moved to a new locale, still in the Village, but about 6 or 7 blocks from their former place, which was on Bleeker St. Laguardia Pl. is the W. edge of NYU main campus.
