Promoted as "The World's Most Famous Arena" - and it probably is... MSG is home to the New York Knicks (NBA basketball), New York Rangers (NHL hockey), New York Liberty (WNBA basketball), and hosts concerts and other family events.

Hubby and I came for the Nashville Predators vs. New York Rangers game (my brother-in-law has season tickets). The arena is amazing and incredibly huge. We were seated on the 4th level, center ice, and we were able to see all the action. Despite some razzing from the Rangers fans, and the unfortunate outcome of the game (Preds lost 3-0), we still enjoyed the game and especially seeing this amazing arena.

I am by no means a sporty girl but I wanted a real New York experience so went to watch the New York Rangers play ice hockey against Buffalo. I didn't have a clue what was going on but there was alot of atmosphere with fans yelling out enthusiastically.

We bought some big American snacks and some foam fingers to wave around and had a good fun experience even though the Rangers lost.

Equipment: We bought our tickets from the box office just before the match but there are touts who try to get you to buy from them. We just ignored the touts as I didn't trust them.

Check the website to see whats on.

The New York Rangers play at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. Hockey is a great sport to watch because it is fast-paced and aggressive. Every seat in the Garden provides a good view for the game. The regular season runs from October through April. If you like hockey, you have to check out a Rangers game at the Garden! Ticket prices range from around $40 to $300.

Equipment: Money! Expect to pay a lot for food, drinks, and merchandise. You may want to grab dinner and a few drinks before you go to the game. There is a decent sportsbar called Stouts just a block away on 33rd st. between 7th ave and 6th.

Decent crowd finally out in the burbs (no really, this is not manhattan...it's really the burbs out there) so everyone is getting drunk and there's more kids out and all that. Family ***. You know.

Decent views of the ice and lower ticket prices. Good beer selection too. SWEEEEEEEEEET!

Oh, and there's nothing around the stadium, so don't think you'll show up and pound back 9 beers at the local bar. There are none. No restaurants, no crackheads, nothing. Get all your *** in the arena.

Equipment: Shaved yams.

So ya wanna see the Rangers play? Wanna see Jagr cherry pick like the Czech dick he is? Well, do to Penn Station and follow the signs for MSG. Get there about 1-2hrs before a game and go to the ticket booths for last minute seats. They usually have them there and for decent prices. I got 4 $40 tickets 1hr before the game from the booth. Another time I got scalper tickets and payed 60 bucks per ticket and I was sitting in the nosebleeds (those legit 40 buck tickets got me in section 328 vs row 413 from the scalper). The beer is normal stadium beer. Drink it a lot or go nearby and get trashed.

Hockey rocks. View is good here. Ambience is a bit flat, but that's cause New Yorkers are sissy ***es.

Equipment: Wear pants. and a 12 inch dildo's on your forehead.

The Garden !

Saw the New York Rangers play Montreal Canadians at Madison Square Garden. What a brilliant night's entertainment ! We had great comfy seats and there was beer and food available all night. Entertainment was really good between periods of play and the crowd was really friendly and upbeat ! Enjoyed it so much that we've been hooked on the game since we came home !

Madison Square Garden

As a kid I remember seeing some of the great heavyweight boxing matches form Madison Square Garden.

This sports arena above Penn, St Station holds about 20,000 and is home to several teams. Despite the fact I was 'in the gods' to see an ice-hockey game, the atmosphere, catering and sightlines to the game were all first rate. Where we were the 'banter' of the New York crowd was also very witty and part of the overall experience to savour.

The venue should still be in good shape of NYC win the rights to stage the 2012 olympics.

We found tickets at the place itself much cheaper than through companies like ticketmaster.

Although the rangers appear to be in the Doldrums, the experience of seeing top-class ice hockey was well worth it. The Ice-hockey games I've seen in England seemed much more physical, but less skillful.

Find out what's on when you go - even in Ice hockey is not your 'thing' there are big name concerts, basketball, boxing etc. to enjoy.

NHL hockey , my first hockey game in the US and I must say a very enjoyable experience a good crowd, but suprisingly quiet compared to a british game where the crowd realy gets behind their home team

Hockey in the Park

We watched lots of kids and dads play hockey together, it was really nice.

Equipment: They all lugged their own equipment in rolling bags. I guess that goes with the hobby.
