"Park" your rear here and watch the world go by

    by UK_GUY_LOVES_VEGAS Updated Jun 7, 2003

Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and take a walk in THE park. There are also less energetic ways to see the park - try a horse drawn carriage or rent a bicycle.

    Not a Big Boat competition

How many times have you seen this pond in the movies? Very tranquil. When we passed this on Friday, it was mostly deserted. However on a Saturday there were miniature sailboat races underway.

    Dogwood on steroids

In May the dogwood was in full bloom. Gorgeous. So much more vibrant and bloom filled than the dogwoods we see in California (such as in Yosemite). What are they feeding them??

    Hans reading to a duck

... pretend that you're listening to Hans Christian Anderson reading you one of his stories. What a great statue.

    Central Park Zoo Clock

On the path by the zoo you'll find this charming clock. I wish I'd been there at the top of the hour to see what happened. I suspect the animals would move.

    Towards the zoo

This pathway has cafes and delis on either side, and if you follow the path you'll be going by the zoo. Beautiful in May, isn't it?

    Central Park from Columbus Circle

This was the first view I had of Central Park, as we exited the subway station. If you look carefully, you can see the street sign for Central Park. Nifty!

    Tranquility

Take a stroll in Central Park. It's Huge and a major portion of the city is devoted to it.
A great place to get away from it all.

    Central Park

It's a good choice to walk around Central Park after going to the Metropolitan Museum if you are not very tired...on Sundays this park is full, seems like a touristic beach in Spain.

Central Park is a great place to hang out on a warm summer day. It was designed especially so that when you're in the park, you see as little of the city and its buildings as possible.

Just walk through it. Or visit one of the museums in there. Lay in the grass or watch the others playing baseball.
