Just to visit brings back the utter terror that the victims must have experienced, to see the childrens drawings to their loved ones can only bring tears to your eyes

Photos taken in December 2004. Three years before I had an opportunity to be on the top, on 110 floor!

Ground Zero was very somber area.

We went to Ground Zero to pay our respects.
It was an easy walk over from Pier 17 and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Yes, the world trade center site / ground zero is a place you should visit. We stood there - silent, tears in our eyes ...

    WTC Sphere

This actually was in front of the World Trade Center buildings.

It was damaged as you can see, there is an eternal lighted flame there.

Ground Zero is a very sobering experience. It's interesting to walk along the fence around the church and see what words and items people from all over the world have left there.

    Winter Gardens

The Winter Gardens have been rebuilt since they were destroyed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Shops and businesses are starting to reopen in the Winter Gardens and the surrounding area.

This is a piece of steel which fell from the World Trade Centre. It has been set in concrete and now stands on Ground Zero.

Deeply hurt by the 9/11 events, the World Financial Center has recovered quickly and is now a nice sight to lift your spirits after the gloomy and depressing Ground Zero.
