Built by USSteel for the 1964-5 World's Fair held in New York City, this gigantic globe is the largest manmade representation of the Earth ever made. Weighing over 900,000 pounds and standing twelve stories high, the Unisphere is the centerpiece of the Flushing Meadows Park that was improved at the time for the world's fair. One of the lesser known icons of New York City, this steel ball appears on the opening credits of every installment of The King of Queens. Leave a Comment Directions: Flushing Meadows Park

Can anyone tell me the name of this building. It always appears in 'Freinds' in between scenes and is the oddest looking building I think Ive ever seen. Its on a fork road at the other end of the street from The Empire State Building!!!! Good directions I know, but I cant even find on the map where it was!!!! But 'Friends' fans and New Yorkers alike, MUST know what Im talking about? Please? Anyway, I have wanted to see that building for so long and there I was finally standing in front of it...but of course as always when you want a good photo, the damn construction has tarpaulin all over it...oh well..I can say I was there at least!!! Oh and a P.S., if someone can come up with the name of it, could they also tell me what it is, i.e. just accomodation, or offices too? Thankyou very much! Ah ha...we have a winner...thanks very much to KAZANDER who let me know that the name of the building is the Flat Iron Building! Thankyou very much! Leave a Comment

Fans of Seinfeld, if you want to meet the REAL soup nazi, I can show you! Go to West 55th, to the Soup Kitchen International. See the queue! Nobody speaks. When you reach the gruff owner Al Yeganeh, order, and step aside. On the floor it tells you clearly - two feet to stand and order, an arrow to tell you where to move onto. He really scowled at us too! He is the soup nazi! Leave a Comment Address: 259A W.55th st, near 8th (Midtown)Phone: 212 757 7730

Any fans from the original Superman movie will remember the big planet Earth globe in the lobby at the Daily Planet. My girlfriend pointed out that The Daily News building was actually next door to our hotel, The New York Helmsley. When we walked into the lobby we saw the big globe and it brought back many childhood memories from watching the late Christopher Reeve play Superman. We had many photos taken by it and it was a memorable part of my trip. If you love Superman pop into the Daily News building Directions: Next to The New York Helmsley Hotel, 42nd Street

Then we were off to another West Village spot, the NBC sitcom “Friends” building at 90 Bedford Street where Monica, Chandler and other friends live (the apartment supposed to take place in Brooklyn either). The inspiration for the characters’ fave haunt, Central Perk, is across town in the East Village. We also make a small detour to the Lucille Lortel Theater at 121 Christopher Street where Joey performed his acting for the first time. Leave a Comment

The title speaks for itself really. The bus tours do a drive by of the famous Seinfeld character, The Soup Nazi's, soup shop. It was about 4 seconds of our time in NYC but it created a giggle or 2 at the time.....and a lifetime of us yelling at each other "NO SOUP FOR YOU"

The “On Location Tours” offers tours to the sites we have seen on both the big and small screens. There are “Manhattan TV and Movie”, “Sex and the City”, “The Sopranos” and “Central Park Movie Sites” tours to choose among. The tours are quite entertaining, bringing us crossing the border to where reality meets fiction. Either on their narrated bus tours or walking tour, the guide shows us through TV history and show related-sights. It’s a different wasy of seeing New York City. Tickets for the tours range from US$15 to 40. Reservation recommended for all tours. Leave a Comment

It was made famous by Suzanne Vega, but you will probably recognise it from Seinfeld - this is Monks, where Jerry and George used to hang out and talk nothing. Tom's Diner is a typical place, really, and they need to know a thing or two about how to make a decent cup of tea from me (I am the tea nazi), but it's a great place to say you've been. Kenny Kramer's Seinfeld Reality Tour One of my favorite memories of our trip to New York. Kenny Kramer is very entertaining. We were in a theatre for the first hour or so then we loaded up in a bus and drove around the Upper West Side Seinfeld locations, ex: coffee shop, hospital, soup kitchen, parking lot George used to save money, the fruit stand Kramer was banned from, the mini-storage Newman used to store the mail, the parking lot where Kramer's shower head deal took place, and lots more. Leave a Comment Directions: Pulse Theatre 432 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Once you arrive at the Pulse Theatre enter the small garden plaza immediately to the west.Other Contact: 212-268-5525, Kenny Kramer himse
