One of my favorite spots in New York has to be Washington Square. It's not much of a spot during the day, but as the afternoon withers out into the night the crowd starts gathering around. There are several impromptu artists performing their trades for you in front your eyes. I loved spending a few hours in this square. Let me tell you, I just which I could have taken pictures at night. Sadly, I left the camera in the hostel that time, argh.
Washington Square Park
I think this Park is interesting because there is this Arc ahead of the Fifth Avenue and the N.Y. University is just around the corner and the students make a break in the park between their lectures or classes. It's a very lify spot.
Set in the heart of Greenwich Village the park with its arch & fountain was a great place to sit & relax. As well as tourists & locals, the square had plenty of buskers & entertainers there too.
Take a walk in one of the many walks downtown New York, there are many more than Central Park!
This is Washington Square.
The arch is a city landmark (one of the many) and leads the way into the trendy Greenwich Village neighborhood.
