Helicopter Trips, New York City
We went to one of those Helicopter tours, I don´t remember the name of the company, there use to be a few but now there´s only one licensed company so it will be the same company we used. They have different fees, that are supposed to be for different tours, but they are not. If you go, it´s expensive but a nice experience, take the cheapest one!! No matter what the guy tells you, he´ll try to convince you that the cheapest tour is too short, but take it!! I can still remember the faces of some tourists who paid around 150USD and their helicopter followed ours!!
They need to fill the helicopter with 6 people and if f.e. you are two and have tickets for the shortest trip they will need to fit you in a helicopter with people who´s doing a longer trip.
Liberty Helicopters operate various flights. We booked a "Big Apple Flight" which accoding to Liberty brochures should last 10-12 minutes. We paid about $100 each. We pre-booked the time and 2 friends did exactly the same. Although we were supposed to be together they were called first and went off before us. About 4 minutes later we took off and were in the air for only 7/8 minutes. About 3 minutes after we landed our friends landed. They had been given the "New York Flight" ( an upgrade worth another $50 each) lucky them. We then asked the others onour flight what they had paid for and both couples had paid for the "Tast of New York" which should only take 7 or 8 minutes. So in actual fact we had been downgraded! Liberty would not listen and insisted we had got what we had paid for and that the 2 other couples had also been upgraded! I thought there were no more gangsters left in New York but Liberty proved me wrong. Avoid them and if you do use them make sure you get what you paid for.
