    South Street Seaport

Why people visit this area confounds me. I suppose it is pleasant in the day to look at the bridges, ships and east river and shop at Pier 16. Still, do not hang around here at night. It is more than safe. However, you will be surrounded by tourists and overall it is not an entertaining area. The bars and restaurants are overpriced and are not good. Please avoid this area at night.

South Street Seaport-big whoop, an indoor/outdoor mall. The only thing going for it is the view of the East River/Brooklyn Bridge & Manhattan Bridge and the South Street Seaport museum, a small relatively interesting look into the history of the area. Chain stores, chain restaurants-come on, you're in New York City. Get out of the mall!!!!

We only went there to get our tickets for Ground Zero but it sure had that tourist trap feel about it.
