Taxis, New York City
There is never a shortage of taxis all around the city...
Driving conditions are mad especially during rush hour - a taxi ride can be a scarey & funny experience for you.
Yellow taxi's are plentiful and relatively easy to catch. Be sure to give cross streets or landmarks as a destination, as opposed to a specific address...
We got around by Yellow shuttle taxi, we found there fares ok, having 2 wheelchairs, we had no trouble at all. Costing were between $15-$45. We had a lot of help from NYPD, who we cannot rate enough.
Especially when it's been pouring like a Monsoon and then the temps drop by 20 degrees! And just look at how many cute gay boys I can pack myself into a cab with!
It would be cool to use the Water Taxi.
I never used one myself.
But I would think it would be fast and fun!
Taxis are the fastest way of getting to places in new york city. as almost all the drivers are a bit crazy youll end up going from one place to another very fast.
From JFK airport to Manhattan or Manhattan to JFK is 45 $. It is cheaper when sharing with other passengers. It is more convenient if luggages are at hand.
Taxis are an important part of NYC, however expensive they may be. I dont recommend the front- the speed gets scary.
Taxis - No city in the USA has more per capita than New York. They're efficient and reasonably affordable. They do travel in packs, though.
If you dont want to spend walking around get a cab. They are moderately proced and will take you where ever you need to go. Just tip them if you are happy with the service.
Take a ride and use N.Y.C. Yellow taxis...its a convenient way to travel at your leisure and faster too.
Cabs are abundant in NYC. Its easy to get one too. don't be shy, put that hand up in the air and wave it a little bit. they seem to flock to the hands...
Teh yellow cabs are all over the streets. So there's no problem to get one. Budget travellers should buy the metro-card. tehy offer weekly prices, so you can drive as often and as far as you like.
It is not a bad way to get around NY. there are lots of cabs. At any time of the night or day, you should be able to find one. (Except from 2am, when people leave nightclubs).
If you're taking a taxi, hold on! ... unless you're in a gridlock. The subway and the buses (surprisingly clean) are excellent mode of transportation.
