Go to Terrapin Point.
On Goat Island Park, a viewing area at the edge of the Horseshoe Falls. You really get a magnificent view of the thundering water going over the sweeping curve of the Horseshoe.
See the waterfalls by night when they are lovely, mind you wrap up warmly it was quite cold when we went.
There's a lot of activite there the summer, but in the winter, all it's close. There's not a lot of activities there the winter, but I think the summer is great.
Definitely go on the 'Cave of the Winds' tour. You take a breath-taking walk down to the base of the Bridal Veil Falls and get to experience the full rush of the water on you.
You can't visit Niagara Falls and not go out on Maid of the Mist. You get soaked but it's great fun!
Get down to water level and visit Cave of the Winds or tread the boardwalks beneath the American Falls. You get soaked again but it's worth it!
Go on the 'Maid of the Mist' tour. This tour takes you near the base of the Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three falls.
American Falls can be seen clearly on the Canadian side whereas here the American Falls can be seen closer from the Observation Tower as well as viewpoints on both Luna and Goat Islands.
There are a variety of activities associated with the falls. We were pressed for time and did only one. It was some sort of walkway... Sorry, it a long time ago.
This tower offers tremendous views of the American Falls, the Canadian side, and the river below the Falls.
The New York side of the falls is less touristy, which makes it a bit more romantic. It is nice to see it at night lit up with different colored lights. Try the Maid of the Mist boat ride.
