Tabby's/Cafe' Al Dente: Best Burgers on the planet and 5 Star Italian
There are only two resturants that have been standing for yearsdespite hard competition. Both are well worth the price! They are Taby's and Cafe Al Dente. Taby's has the best Burgers on the face of the planet. My favorite was the oysterbay burger! There Gyro's are also to die for, but then again everything they make is incredible! This is a local place that has been there for many years despite the hard competition. I grew up there and still after all these year I have never found a better burger. The thought of Tabby's makes my mouth water! It has a small homey cafe feel and is right on main Street. Cafe Al Dente is all around 5 star italian Cusine. You won't find better!
Favorite Dish: Have your pick at either resturaunt! They're all incredible!

Bonanza's: Hot Dogs and Italian Ice Their Specialities
After a busy day visiting Sagamore Hill and Youngs Memorial Cemetary (I guess you could say the above ground and under ground homes of Theodore Roosevelt) in Oyster Bay it was time for me to find a little local place for a bite to eat. Going a couple of blocks off the main drag of Oyster Bay I ran across this little eatery shack which beckoned me to come on in and try some New York Style Hot Dogs and an Italian Ice.
Fortunately only one person was ahead of me in line when I arrived so I was able to have a nice talk with one of the guys inside the shack trying to figure out what my afternoon delight was going to be. After looking through the menu and getting some suggestions I settled on the Chili Cheese Dog and a combo Raspberry and Peach Italian Ice. Both were scrumptious and hit the spot.
Bonanza's has been around since 1897 (could be the same building, I didn't have time to ask as they got very busy after I ordered) which means that TR himself could have come down from Sagamore Hill to have a bite or if he didn't maybe one of his children or grandchildren could have enjoyed the same simple refreshments that I did.
I got a kick out of the last picture I took at Bonanza's which was of a couple of parents (who I had pose front to back for me). They were the coaches of their son's Lacrosse called, what else, the Roughriders. (TR led the Roughriders during the Spanish-American War.

Canterbury Ales: World Class Beer
Canterbury Ales Oyster Bar & Grill is located on Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay's Main street. The out side is beautiful, it looks like an old oyster house ! When you walk inside you are hit with the smell of tasty food, and right away you want to dive in and eat ! But wait a minute , they have a crazy assortment of beer, from all across the US ! Im not big on beer, but my brother got 2 . And he thought they were pretty good . But the real thing that makes you wanting more, is how kool the bottles are ! Each has it's own unique label. The food is godo as well. And the atmostphere is amazing! You feel laid back, down to earth, and most of all - welcome!
Mario's Pizzeria: More Pizza
Can you tell what kind of food I grew up on? This another pizza joint. It has a wider variety of good food than Ralph's, but the pizza is not as good. One thing you can count on at Mario's is an under-16 staff and lots of big hair among the clientele.
Favorite Dish: Chicken parm and garlic knots.
Ralph's Pizza: Pizza
This great pizza joint is actually located in Bayville, but it's close enough. Located across the street from the Long Island sound on the Bayville boardwalk, I grew up eating pizza from here. I regard it as the best pizza in the world and no other pizza I have had even compares.
Favorite Dish: PIZZA!
