    Pasta Pasta: Great Cuisine

    by daiquiri85 Updated Apr 4, 2011

Nice, simple, classy resteraunt. A little pricy, but the food is just great. The picture doesn't do it justice, it looks much nice by candlelight at nightime.

Favorite Dish: My favorite is their three-cheese tortellini....its delicious....I believe its filled with lobster. Pair it with a glass of chardonnay and you have a wonderful meal. The portions are of a fairly larger scale.

THE TIGER LILY CAFÈ: Bohemian eatery

    by daiquiri85 Updated Apr 4, 2011
the back of the cafe with the couches

Great place. It's like a bohemian, artsy deli. It's decorated soo awesomely... very greenwich village. Its not neccesarily vegan as it is organic. There are still things with meat in it. They have great sandwiches...very different pasta dishes and teas. Not a place for children....in fact there are couches to sit down on and I dont think children are even allowed there....which i love.

Favorite Dish: everything, its different, and every is so fresh. You order what you like... its not so different that you wont want to try it, but they do have some interesting combinations.

Salsa Salsa: Burritos the size of your calves...

by virtualpatrick Written Mar 25, 2004

So a friend of mine suggested the burrito. But seeing that they were the size of my calves, this scared me so I opted for the Nacho Grande instead.

This place is pretty popular seeing all the people coming in for takeout lunch.

Tiger Lily Cafe: The wraps are fantastic

by BeverlyTyler Updated Mar 7, 2004
    Tiger Lily Cafe at 11am

There are lots of choices and vegeterian is special here as well. Try all of their wraps, pick first one that is a new experience for you, and try a drink you haven't tried before as well. You can sit and look out at the village below and forget that time is passing. The staff is helpful and pleasant and low key as well.

Favorite Dish: I like all the wraps and I guess my favorite is the old standby Chicken Ceasar

Billie's 1890 Saloon: A simple old pub for lunch or dinner

by BeverlyTyler Written Mar 6, 2004
Billie's looks out on Main & East Main

Billie's is a great place to enjoy a hamburger or many other simple pub fare with a good beer or other drink.

I especially like this place during the week when the crowd is a bit older (long in the tooth).

This is a very old building in Port Jefferson and the atmosphere inside reflects the feeling of permanence, history and old woods. There is also a back room for larger groups.

Favorite Dish: Burgers, soup, sandwiches and seafood make an enjoyable lunch or dinner in a pub atmosphere.

Port Jefferson Lobster House: Fresh, Delicious, local Seafood takeout or eat-in

by BeverlyTyler Written Mar 3, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Restaurant entrance front-seafood market on side

This is local seafood extraordinaire. Simply, good food with a Long Island flavor. The restaurant, in a coverted garage is open and pleasant, devoid of any physical atmosphere, but that doesn't matter since the food and the prices are so good.

Lobster is always a good choice here and there are a myriad of seafood choices to eat in or take out.

A great choice is available of appitizers, soups, salads, house specialities, sandwiches, wraps and side orders. Open seven days a week. Lunch served Mon-Fri 11-4:30.

Favorite Dish: The Lobster Bisque is smooth and creamy with large pieces of fresh lobster. This is a special treat that is always available, as are the New England and Manhatten Clam Chowders which are also delicious and fresh.

I love the baked clams. They are the bst I've ever tasted and I love seafood (see my New Zealand pages for other seafood delights)

Z Pita: Fresh seafood, relaxed and friendly atmosphere

by BeverlyTyler Updated Mar 3, 2004
Z Pita is outlined at night with while lights

This is the first place to stop for breakfast, (Sunday only) lunch or dinner in Port Jefferson. Basically Greek-American cuisine, there are a number of seafood and pasta specialties, good home-made soups, wraps, salads, pitas and steaks.

Portions are large and the cozy, sunny and well-lit atmosphere looking out on Main Street is very inviting. The host Joey Zee is always on hand to greet us with a smile and welcome.

Favorite Dish: My absolute favorite is Cajun tuna over Greek salad. This is special because the tuna (or salmon) comes cooked exactly the way you ask, I always have it medium rare. This makes a wonderfully light, delicious and filling dinner that I enjoy with a glass of Merlot.

The eggs benedict, (A Sunday favorite) which is three large eggs and can easily be split into two portions, is wonderfully prepared and very rich. There are also delicious fruit crapes and other delightful Sunday brunch treats.
