the culinary insititute of america is one of the finest restaurants in the world. the insititute has six separate restaurants specializing in different cuisine's. i have been fortuate to be able to visit some of the best restaurants in america and europe and my favorite is the culinary institute. the chefs and waiters are students at the insititute and they express pride in their work. the food is excellent and the service is professional and fun. if you are into fine dining with a laid back atmosphere a dinner at the culinary insititute will be a memorable experience. a must thing to do when in the rhinebeck/hyde park area. reservations are a must.

There is a Amtrak Station (Rhinecliff Station) located just 2 minutes walk to the hotel. makes it an easy way to get there. That said, unless you plan to use the nearby facilities and relax at the hotel, you really do need a car to get around the area to see the sites.
