They have installed a brand new tasting facility on the wine shop.

The host and hostess describe the wines you will be tasting for the day.
You are given a score and comment sheet and asked to fill it out while you are tasting the samples (I think it is part of a sobriety test... can't write, then no more wine!)
Water and cheese are provided to cleanse the pallet. Conversation between the host and the guests continues throughout the event; usually small talk about where people are from and how long the vineyard has been active and what the plans are for the rest of the today.
Of course you are invited to buy wines and wine drinking accessories at the store when the tasting is done.

The whole thing is run by the Karasz family and they are very nice people. The vineyard is one of the newest in the area and they are trying to make a niche for themselves in a tight market with many competitors.

Dinner is served from 5pm to 8pm only. You must call ahead for reservations.

    from the ads:
"Veraisons Restaurant features locally grown and innovative food, along side well loved classics, a blend that when mixed with the panoramic view of Seneca Lake and the surrounding Vineyards can be quite intoxicating."

The view is spectacular from anywhere on the premises. And every table in the dining room has a piece of that view. The atmosphere is casual (dress is collared shirt and long pants).
About 25 tables nicely spaced so that you can have a private conversation.
It is all light wood and white linens to give the place a light and airy feel.

The hostess is courteous and the servers are smiley and efficient (and not overly friendly). They quickly take your order and soon it is served to the table. A nice vegetable soup and house salad with oil and vinegar; stuffed chicken roasted to perfection. The server then presents a nice tray of dessert specialties for that week; strawberry cheesecake is usually a good choice. Finish off with some hot coffee or cold tea depending on the season.

The cost is a bit high, $35 per person plus tax and tip. But the experience is worth the price.
