There are a few picnic spots in the park but most of the land is undeveloped to maintain the purity of the indigenous flora and fauna. West Lake Road passes through the park and there are some parking areas there and places where you can throw out a blanket and open a picnic basket and enjoy a nice cool breeze off the lake on a hot summer day.
Enjoy the fresh air and the lack of noise.
There are boat launches for small motor boats and hand operated rowboats, kayaks and canoes. If you are either good or lucky as a fisherman then you will see that Walleye, Bass and Northern Pike abound in Silver Lake. There are no fishermans' aids in the park (bait, lures, advice). You have to go to the north end of the lake (Perry) for those amenities. There are some restroom facilities in the park if you need them.
There are two launch areas into the lake... one on the north end where a large commercial marina exists and one in the southwest end.
