The second last weekend of July is the time for the Sodus Point Olde Tyme Country Faire. It runs from 9am to 9pm on Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sunday. Friday evening (7pm) is the pet parade and ice cream social.

There will be carnival rides and live music entertainment; plenty of finger foods and beverages; midway games and raffles. Part of the street will be blocked off for a street dance.
Local politicians and VIPs will be there to meet the people (and get your vote). Arts and crafts vendors and local businesses will have exhibits and items for sale.
For the music events in the park you will need to brungyour own chairs or be prepared to stand.

The event is sponsored by Sodus Chamber of Commerce and the Great Sodus Bay Association.
Venue is Oscar Fuerst Field on Saturday and Sunday and Sodus Village Park on Friday.
Call the phone number below for exact dates for this years event.

    Summer Concerts

the concert on a nice day

Every Sunday in July and August (after the 4th of July), there is entertainment out in the yard next to the lighthouse. The concerts are free but you need to bring your own seat or blanket.
Last minute concellations sometimes occur if weather is too bad (call the phone number below for exact dates this year).

The music includes big band groups, jazz ensembles, symphony orchestras, instrumentals, pop music and country. Most of the groups are well known in Western New York; some are just local favorites; all are worth the time to listen to.

Food carts provide cold beverages and finger foods during the concert.
Site parking can be a problem. Sometimes they pack them in so tight that you cannot get out until someone else moves first... so you may have to remain at the concert until it is done.
It is much better to use the shuttle bus. A free shuttle bus service is provided from various parking locations within the village.

    to get there:
Sodus Lighthouse, 7606 North Ontario Street
to route 101 (Lake Road) all the way to Sodus Point or route 104 (Ridge Road) to route 14 then north on route 14 to Sodus Point.
In town, look for the signs for the shuttle bus parking lots.
