Even though (or maybe because) Sonyea is the site of two major correctional institutions, there is little crime in the area. It registers "very low" on the crime risk chart. And there are no sex offenders registered in the area (other than ones in the the prisons).

You can feel safe in Sonyea by just using the same safety procedures you would use in your own home town.

This is not one of your better golf facilities but if you need to hit a few balls or just like the exercise and you are in the Sonyea area, there are not many other choices.

Only 9 holes with meadows for fairways. No long holes nor many obstacles; made for duffers like me.
Total yardage is about 2400 and par is about 32.
Manual carts; fees are under $15.
Small snackbar and limited pro shop. No driving range or putting greens for practice.

    to get there:
I-390 exit at Sonyea, go west on route 36 and south on Ridge Road East. Look for arrows to park entrance.
