Yes the lake is polluted but it is more then that. All along the lake is a paved path for roller blading and or any phyical activity. The trail runs I belive 6 miles and ends with a restrant/shop at the end. The parkway also has trollys running up and down the road to assit the tired.. Great place to go anytime of the year for all seasonal sports.

At once time James Street was the premier residential street in Syracuse. Except for some of the old mansions that have been recycled for organizational use, the street is now a commercial strip. It used to be lined by large mansions with porticos for the carriages to drive up under. I remember visiting several of these when I was very young ...

Village of Liverpool welcoming sign

The Village of Liverpool has never looked better. There are many shops, restaurants, and parks to visit in this small village near Onondaga Lake. (next time plant trees that are alive...no more dead trees please)

Parkway Sunday's sign near Onondaga Lake

9 am to noon on Sundays during the warm months Onondaga Lake Parkway is closed off to vehicle traffic. You can use it for roller blading, running, walking, or biking. A lot of people do this every week.

See a Movie at Hoyts Cinemas Cicero 13

Hoyts Cinemas Cicero 13 near Syracuse, NY

Instead of going to the Big Mall Theaters, head to Hoyts Cinemas Cicero 13 in the northern suburbs of Syracuse. It's a very nice Movie Theater. I usually go here instead of Carousal, Shoppingtown or Great Northern Malls. It is a lot easier to get in and out of too. Hoyts Cinemas Cicero 13 also has Stadium "like" seating!

Morgan Forest is located near...

Morgan Forest is located near Labrador Mountain in Truxton, which is a 30 minute drive on Route 20 from Syracuse. It is a state owned park area, and has several hiking trailheads. If you hike to the top of the drumlin (small mountain formed by glacial sediment) there is a clearing where you can catch the occaisional hang-glidert takeoffs. A beautiful view of a lake below and the countryside makes sitting up there for an hour worth it.
