    This place definitely wasn't the best French restaurant I've ever visited, but the food was mostly very good and the staff was definitely mostly French (or maybe they were acting students at SU?). We were doing some food sharing here, so I was able to try the escargots (Burgundy Snails), a warm goat cheese salad, a rack of lamb and some scallops served over Basmati rice. The snails and the lamb were both great, but honestly, the scallops and salad were mediocre. The clientele seemed to be mostly families and older people and the atmosphere was a bit dated (think Old Country Buffet with fine French wine). Without drinking wine, you coud spend under $40 per person, but you should expect to pay $40 and up.

    We were about an hour out of Syracuse and we drove in for this place and it was worth the drive. This is a blues place that does BBQ justice. We were there on a Saturday night and the wait was 1.5 hours long, and it was still worth it. Outstanding food and a cool atmosphere makes this a must stop.

    I had the Ribs/beef brisket/chicken combo and it didn't disapoint. Outstanding ribs and brisket.

    We also shared a great plate of fried green tomatos.

    There are three parts to this restaurant. The Bistro, which is in the soaring lobby, the Lounge [the bar with wide screen TV] and the smaller Tuscan room. All are very attractive. The menu is classic American with options from under $10 to over $20.

    The dinner options are excellent, but I'm a sucker for the perfectly toasted NY bagel with salmon and the usual "sides" of capers and red onions. Along with the excellent orange juice this was a superb breakfast!

    I've been here twice now on both of my visits (in 2005 and 2006) and both times the food and atmosphere have been great. The service was a little spotty, but the place is always very busy, so the servers are stretched a bit thin. Expect a wait of 20 or 30 minutes at all hours as this place is very crowded. The first time I was here, we had a sampler platter of wings and ribs and both were great. Last time, we ordered some delicious fried green tomatoes and I had a huge barbecue sandwich that had both slow cooked beef brisket and pulled pork. Yum. They have a few local beers that are worth trying too.

    This is a very warm & friendly restaurant in the former Tecumseh Golf Club building. In addition to steaks and seafood they have nice Italian dishes, including a daily pizza special. The service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

    The most formal dining option at the Lincklaen House is The Main Dining Room.

    The signature popover [pictured] They are right to warn you to be careful as you can get burned by the hot air that escapes when you break into it. It comes with a delicious honey-butter. And you can have all you can eat :))))

    Located in the bar and nightclub saturated Armory Square area of downtown, Movino's is the perfect place to go after bar hopping on the weekend. The pizza is good and is just the thing to soak up a bit of excess alcohol. Follow it up with plenty of water, a couple of aspirin and call me in the morning.

  • Very popular with the locals. You will have to wait on a friday night ( say 30 to 40 minutes).

    Good atmosphere with big tables. Food comes on big plates and there is a lot of food. The locals take leftovers home.

    Stick to entres less than $ 20 and skip the appetizer.

    Lots to choose from.

    Hadddock Italiano ( $14) was , as the say ,Good Italian cooking.

    In Phoebe's early days it was a bit of a frontier adventure to visit. But now that the University has spilled down the hill and Syracuse Stage has taken off and The Genesee Grande Hotel replaces the tired motel up the street, Phoebe's is ready to rock and roll!

    The menu is not a long one, but the cuisine is delicious and well-prepared!
