This museum is an old home nicely refurbished and having several rooms dedicated to various aspects of Memorial Day. There are momentos and pictures and paraphenalia from the Revolutionary War in America, from the Civil War between the states, from the Korean War.
There are displays of GAR (Grand Army of the Republic). One room is dedicated to all the people and organizations that helped to make Memorial Day a national holiday.

$5 donation is accepted at the door and if they are not too busy on the day that you visit, a staff member will give you a running commentary on the exhibits in the several rooms. He was able to stay with us for two rooms before other duties took his time and we continued on a self-tour of the building.

If you are a history buff, you will appreciate the work that went in to collecting the artifacts and putting together the comprehensive displays.

The tour takes about an hour.

Aeropostale, Ann Taylor, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Carters, Eddie Bauer, Foot Locker, KB Toys, Lane Bryant, Nike, Reebok, Tomm Hilfiger, Van Huesen, Zales. Those are just a few of the 100 stores that you can shop in this outdoor access mall. There are also 6 eateries where you can restore your energy for another hour of shopping. They also have restroom facilities and strollers for your convenience.

My wife can hit every store in three hours (including time for a bite to eat).

Waterloo like many of these rural towns is wide spread, general with well dispersed population. And that usually means that subgroups of the town form into local communities, hamlets and villages as time goes on. Waterloo is no exception.

The active communities in Waterloo are:
part of Border City... hamlet west of town

part of East Geneva... hamlet on route 20
