Webster's past is a struggle for land. Population surges caused growth in some areas and population declines led some villages to be all but abandoned. The last 10 years have been a remarkable time of constant expansion in the area. Webster presently includes several important communities.

Forest Lawn... northwest of town where many upscale homes and wealthy mansions are being built or renovated
Glen Edith... west side of town, on Irondequoit Bay where you'll find Glen Edith Inn and the historic old center of town
Union Hill... hamlet east of town; this area has had the least change in the last decade
West Webster... west of town where much of the new growth of homes and apartments and strip malls has occured
