This family owned restaurant specializes in beef sandwiches. but you can get a decent turkey or chicken or Italian sausage sandwich as well. The best deal in the place is the Roast Beef sandwich with fries for under $6. If you are super-hungry you can try their Frankenburger with a full pound of meat at $8. They have a great selection of ice cream...more
I am biased because my niece's husband owns this but I will try to be fair in exclaiming about it.The theme for this submarine sandwich store is 1950s. The booths are in red leatherette with dark wood. The floor is black and white checkered tiles. The lighting is globe lamps hung from a ceiling that is dimpled like the old tin-plate ceilings. It is...more
The food here is pretty good but the noise is a din.The place is set up to entertain kids while they eat. It is one big room with all booths and formica tables. There are video-type games in one section of the room. Another section of the room has a clown doing tricks with balloons. Kids are roaming around with ice cream cones dripping. You order at...more
I have had these pizzas for over 35 years and they have consistently stayed top of the list.Nice thick crust with lots of cheese. The sauce is just slightly sweet and they use virgin olive oil and don't overdo it. The bread itself is firm but not too chewy and they burn it just a touch to get that charcoaled flavor. The dough is hand made daily and...more
My daughter is just like her mother.... they both prefer Marks Pizzeria over my objections.(It isn't that Mark's is a bad pizza, it is that Pontillo's is such a good pizza). My daughter lives in the area and when we visit them we are often treated to pizza and wings (it seems that the younger generation just doesn't have time to cook!).Mark's makes...more
Panera company may have started out as making some of the best fresh bread but they have augmented their franchise with a full menu of healthy lunch foods.Sandwiches (and I mean stacks of meat and cheese and fillers) and hot soups and fresh salads. Or you can come in after 5pm and get BBQ chicken, roasted mushrooms and fried onions and peppers as...more
This outdoor access mall is new to Webster. It is another sign of the economic growth of the town.
Since opening in 2006, it has added Kohls, Panera, Target, barnes and Noble, Dicks and Old Navy. Plans are in the works for five more national brands to come in 2007.
My wife shops here often with my daughter who lives in the area.
Because it is a new mall and wants to increase its customer base, there are always great coupons in the local papers for most of the stores in this plaza.

Webster celebrates summer on the first week of July (but not on 4th of July) and this year (2006) it is the first of July. The place is the same as it has always been: Webster Fireman Field. This is a typical town fair with carnival rides and clowns and fireworks. There are food vendors galore and stage entertainment. The Webster Parks and...more

Webster, NY is a fast growing area with low crime stats.
the annual crime reports show: 1 murder, 2 rapes, 3 assaults for 37000 people.
Burglaries and Thefts (car break-ins, shop-lifting) are the only crimes that are of much concern in the area and even those are way below the average for a town the size of Webster.
Webster is home to three registered sex offenders which is not many for the size of the population.
If your are going to be vacationing in the area, you may want to check out the website below.
There aren't any places in Webster where I would be afraid to go between the hours of 5am and midnight. In fact, I have been many places in Webster at those time and never experienced any problems.
Your visit to Webster should be nice and safe as long as you use common sense and normal precautions (lock doors, put valuables in motel safebox, know where the kids are).
Webster has a variety of landscape that makes it a great place to do bird watching. Even though the recent housing boom is beginning to reduce some of the free land there still are plenty of places to get away from the crowd and listen to the calls of the wild.
Webster Park is centered at Holt Road and Lake Road intersection and covers a large area of camping, picnicing and open field/woods. It is a good birding area in all seasons accept for summer (when it is heavily populated by two legged creatures carrying baskets of food).
The lake front is frequented by ducks and geese and gulls. In the wooded areas can be seen (if you are fortunate) Snowy Owls and Pine Grosbeaks and Finches. The fields near the woods are frequented by warblers and raptors and in springtime by various migrants.
To get there, take route 104 expressway to Holt Road and head north to the lake and there you are. address is 255 Holt Road for main park office
The link below gets you access to a live webcam that shows you the weather live and over the last few days so you can get a good feel for the weather in Webster before you visit. The camera very seldom changes its directional position so it is not as good as other sites that give you a more panoramic view but it still is better getting the info...more
Webster's past is a struggle for land. Population surges caused growth in some areas and population declines led some villages to be all but abandoned. The last 10 years have been a remarkable time of constant expansion in the area. Webster presently includes several important communities. Some of those communities are:Forest Lawn... northwest of...more
