The Mall has Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom's, Potery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Bose, Express, Tiffany & Co, Coach, Luis Vuitton, Burberry and other retail stores. The Mall also has a food Court and P.F. Chang's as food options. There is a Red Door Salon for pampering if that's what you're needing...

  • City Centre 15 - Movie Theatre

We love to come to this theatre. It is centrally located on Mamaroneck Avenue at the City Centre. It has 15 theatres showing all the lastest movies and the best part is they have an I-Max as well as Director's Hall.

  • Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa

The Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa is located in the Westchester Mall. Liz gets her hair cut her and loves their spa. It's a nice place to get a gift certificate for a facial, massage or a manicure for that someone special. I know women need to be pampered and love their spa treatments. The services are by appointment only.

White Plains Restaurants

  • Cheesecake Factory

    4 out of 5 stars

Cheesecake Factory has a large variety of cheesecakes, hence their name, but they also have a pretty large selection of dishes to please just about anyone regardless of whether you are here for breakfast, lunch, dinner. We come here often since my daughter worked in the area, but during our last visit there was a group of us and we decided to have...

  • Legal Sea Foods Restaurant & Oyster Bar

I've been to the Legal Sea Foods in Washington and Boston and decided to try this location out recently while spending a fun filled day shopping with my daughter. The restaurant is very nice and their food is excellent. I really wasn't expecting the food to be so fresh and delicious and was plesantly surprised when we placed our order. The...

  • The Melting Pot

I've been here now on several occassions and have had the same experience on both visits. First, let me say that the restaurant itself is quite nice, with wonderful dark wood accents and a nice bar, booths and a enclosed "party" area. I really liked the atmosphere and the food, but the service was another issue. On both occassions we were herded...

  • Raccanelli's Pizza & Brew

    4 out of 5 stars

This particular Pizza & Brew is conveniently located between my daughter's home and the cementary where we have mom interred, so after spending some time visiting the cementary we will occassionally stop here for some lunch. The restaurant's decor isn't as nice as the one in Scarsdale, but the food sure is. They have a very large selection of...

  • City Limits Diner

    3 out of 5 stars

I recently returned to this diner (1/09) with my sister, daugther and grandson for some breakfast before a shopping excursion. It really isn't a favorite diner of mine as the food is quite expensive not to mention the fact that the diner is always packed. We waited for about 15 minutes before we were seated even though we spotted a few tables...

    4 out of 5 stars

Iron Tomato is a mish mosh of restaurant, market and bakery. My wife and I first were introduced to Iron Tomato by her parents. When they moved to White Plains they found that Iron Tomato had some of the Italian specialties my Father in Law so loved without heading down to the Bronx. My Father in law loved motoring here in his wheelchair scooter to...

  • Planet Pizza

    3.5 out of 5 stars

My daughter and her husband love Planet Pizza and usually order from here when we want some really good yummy pizza. The restaurant is quite small with a few small tables if you prefer to eat it here, but we usually place our order and then have it delivered. Their individual slices are huge and they have a very large selection of toppings to...

There is plenty to do in White Plains, so if you are coming from NYC and don't have a car, Metro North is the best and easiest way to get here. There are trains leaving Grand Central every 10-15 minutes (even on weekends) and if you time it just right you just may get on an express train that takes all of 31 minutes from Grand Central to White...

White Plains Local Customs

  • White Plains - Poor Quality of Life

I consider myself to be easygoing and tolerant of the city life having grown up in Brooklyn and living in Manhattan for numerous years. So I expect some noise, some crowds, some traffic, some garbage and even some mayhem. Unfortunately though, White Plains takes each of these categories to the nth degree so I am leaving and never coming back - not...

It really irks me that most places in White Plains charge for Parking. Fortunoff's and Whole Foods will also validate your parking up to...

White Plains is bustling with shopping, businesses, residents and schools. There is always some form of traffic especially around the highway and mall areas. The traffic around the holidays especially is a nightmare and we avoid White Plains like the plague.

Favorite thing: The Galleria. This mall is hugh. It has a J.C. Penny as the anchor. It has a mutiplex movie cinema. Specialty shops, restaurants, everything a mall needs is included.

Fondest memory: My fondest memory of White Plains was all the friends on the job and off the job I met. The best part was I meet my former girlfriend there at she was the one who showed me the Galleria where we had our first date.
