    Main drag onto the Island

This picture is the main route to access Bodie Island from the south. To go north get in the left lanes and head for 158. Going north you can tour Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil's hill, and Corollo Lighthouse. Of coarse, the towns of Nags Head, Southern Shores, Sanderling, and Pine Bluff are all this direction also.

Take the sign head for Cape Hatteras National Seashore and the islands in the right lane.

Pictures of the landscape between Williamston to the west to Roanoake and Bodie Islands. The mainland areas are mostly agricultural until you approach the coast. Then it changes to a water way on the north side of Route 44 and forests, but even here, the forests are now being cleared for manufacturing.
