  • Great Sushi & Asian Food

An Cuisines is an Asian fusion restaurant in Cary near the intersection of Weston Parkway and Harrison Avenue. It's rather expensive, but excellent food - one of the best sushi places in the area. This place is a favorite for one my out-of-town colleagues, so we come here when he is in the area. They have a nice variety of different Asian foods (I...

  • Great Selection of Pizzas

Mellow Mushroom is an eclectic pizza restaurant in Cary, though they have locations throughout the Triangle and beyond. I come here somewhat regularly and the food and service are consistently good. Every year we do a First Day Hike on New Years Eve and come here for pizza and beers afterwards. They have the best pizza around and it's a nice way to...

  • Afternoon Snack

This was an afternoon snack stop - I had a very enjoyable fajitas and water. The portions were large and very enjoyable. The one negative point, may be that you only receive three wraps with the portion - 4 would be better! The store was clean and tidy, staff were freindly and the atmosphere was great too.

  • Afternoon Dessert

After my afternoon snack, I called into the nearby Maggie Moo's - where I had an incredibly large portion of ice cream and a coffee.Sitting outside in the summer heat and sunshine, eating ice cream was an excellent Sunday afternoon experience.

  • Chinese Dim Sum - Cantonese Style

On a weekend lunch time, if one lives in Cary, and does not want to drive as far as to Durham, this is the best place to have Chinese/Cantonese style Dim Sum.The deco is modern. Waiting staff push carts with a wide variety of small dishes around. Ask them if you are not familiar with any of the dish. Some waiting stuff speak fluent English, others...

  • Great Italian

It is a chain, but a good chain! We were there many times now, and always had very good food.It opens daily 11 AM to 11 PM, that means if you can basically eat any time you want during that time period. It has a very comfortable dining hall, staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Fettuccini with Lobster $11.95“Black fettuccini tossed with...

  • Large selection of Sushi and Thai food

A relaxed place with boat shape sushi bar. Sushi comes in boats as well. The sister restaurant is in Raleigh (I will add onto Raleigh page later). The Raleigh one has much more elaborated deco: the tables in Cary location are all rather simple, but the ones in Raleigh are all w/ a fancy wood carved top (not sure if directly shipped from Thailand),...

  • Serious Steaks!

This was once again suggested by the excellent concierge service of The Umstead hotel - as it was near by, I used the free shuttle service. I was unsure what to expect, and in fact was blown away by the srevice and the food. It does seem as if the Cary area has some wonderful restaurants and eateries. I had a well done regular fillet (12oz) no...

  • New World Cuisine

The restaurant was suggested by the hotel - in fact it is another local business owned by the Goodknights who also own The Umstead and of course SAS. It was a very pleasant experience and I have to say that the portions were large and reasonably priced.I was seated at 20.30 and it was fairly busy in the main dining areas, private dining and the bar...

  • An Asian diner worth visiting!

I had a day to fill before I boarded my flight home which was at 18.10 on a Saturday evening in May. Jefferson, a concierge at the hotel recommended this to me along with a particular chicken dish. I did not take the food suggestion - but the diner was a great place to visit. The menu has many great things to pick from and of course the portions...

  • Chinese Dim Sum

The restaurant's deco definitely do not match its food. The dinning hall looks like in a fast food restaurant (it probably needs a 'face lift'), but it really serves some authentic Chinese dishes that most other 'Chinese' restaurants not.It serves different style of Dim Sum from NeoChina on Maynard and High House intersection.See reviews on 'city...

This is a new Japanese restaurant recently open. At the lunch time, it is packed. Japanese deco with Japanese screen windows and a giant tako (drum) at the center of one wall. It has a large dining room, plus a few private Japanese style rooms. It is not the cheapest in the area....

    Public Transportation

by SydneyBoundBabe Written Mar 23, 2005

There is almost NO public transportation available in Cary, because the city grew rapidly and without the institution already in place.
There is a pay-per-ride bus available called Cary Transit -- but destinations are limited and you must call to be picked up and dropped off at specific locations. (Not recommended)

  • The mall in Cary

This was in fact the first mall I visited in North Carolina - and I understand it may not be the largested but it was a pleasant enough way to spend a late morning and afternoon before returning to the UK.The advertising for the Mall (owned by CBL & Associates Properties Inc.) tells me that:"Opportunities are plentiful at Cary Towne Center! Cary...

  • All styles/budgets

The info below was from an email sent to a VT member, I will organize it better later time allows.Where to shop really depends upon the type of things/style/prince you areinterested in.In Cary:- Cary Towne center: Crossroads mall (open area):

  • Clean, new and secured

New, clean and neat, secured self storage. While many others who also claimed to have 'air conditioned' units with doors open to the open air, the air conditioned units in A+ Self Storage actually are indoor units, to garantee the true air conditioned status. The units are clean and neat, not crockroaches crawling (as we saw in some other...
