By Air: Fly into Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) then take I-40 West, either getting off at the Exit 270 to NC 54 or Exit 273 to NC 15/501 S.
It is very easy to drive around by car, downtown has a huge parking deck for visitors.

Otherwise one can take buses (less frequent during weekends).

Since Chapel Hill is a college town, many roads adapted with a 2-feet bike lane, parallel but separated from automobile traffic. From Carrboro (where many UNC students live), west of Chapel Hill, there is a bike path along the old railroad track, provides an easy way to campus.

The downtown area is rather small, everywhere is in walking distance.

The public buses in Chapel Hill are free for all standard routes, so don't hesitate to hop on board if you need a ride. Look for the sign in the window that says, "Tar Heel Express".
