Lupies is a great little joint that is always busy and for good reason. The atmosphere is warm and worn, with friendly servers and an old school feel. The building is old, but cool and the neighborhood itself is a bit rough around the edges. Somehow, this adds to the atmosphere.
Most nights, there will be a line to get in, but I recommend making your way to the front of the line and sitting at "Bongos Bar." It's almost always open and it's located on the lower level (to the right from the front door) so you won't have to wait.
The Texas style chili is great, but beware, it's a little hot. They use beer in sauce and it's served with cornbread. Mmmmmm. Perfect for a chilly night (chili night?) Leave a Comment

Lupie's: This is a great place for people watching. The restaurant is a cross-roads for every type of person. You will find local politicians, hippies, business execs, club kids, families, and of course your regular Jack & Jill. All this in a hokey, picnic table sort of environment.
