    Lake Norman Boating Madness

by essexgirl Written Oct 22, 2003

Lake Norman is growning by leaps and bounds!! It is a great place to hang out in the summer time and a nice place if you choose to live there. It's about 30 minutes from Charlotte (with I-77 traffic) The Catawba Queen is a old Mississippi boat that you can take up and down the lake.

Located only 20 minutes north of Charlotte you'll find the man-made lake that was created by damming the Catawba River. It is now a popular recreation area for boating and all kinds of water activity. It's also a wealthy community that has grown tremendously in the last ten years. Many local celebrities and athletes have their homes up at the lake.

A few miles north of Charlotte is Lake Norman and its associated state park. This huge lake with some 500 miles of shoreline is a favorite for boaters and fishermen.
