My all time favorite restaurant in Dillsboro is the Dillsboro Smokehouse. It's right on the only road in town, and you can't miss it's smell.
Favorite Dish: Their best dish is probably any type of Bar-b-que, I love the pulled pork sandwich with wedge fries. It's wonderful.
My second favorite restaurant would be the Dillsboro Steak and Seafood restaurant. They serve a variety of "fancier" meals for very cheap prices. Lunch is very good here, and you can get a nice grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a homemade lemonade for under 5 bucks. For dinner, try some of their wonderful salmon, or lobster.

Just across the street from the train station there is a row of shops and eateries. Heaven's Railway is perhaps the most unique for this setting. They specialize in Christian gifts, books, and music. They also have another location in Bryson City, at the other end of the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. They specialize in Christian books, music, gifts, etc. and they are very friendly. Of course, most people in the North Carolina mountains are very friendly unless you get too close to their still.
What to buy: As stated above, this store specializes in Christian books, music, and gifts.
What to pay: The prices seem fair, about what you would pay in less tourist-oriented places.
