Fayetteville is surrounded by...
Fayetteville is surrounded by Military which is derived of all cultures. The city itself is mainly African-American, I do believe white people are a minority in Fayetteville. But they do have excellent cuisine in many different places, Koyoto's (Japanese) on Yadkin Road is absolutely fabulous. You can watch the people cook the food right in front of you. Don't miss out on this restaurant. It is something to remember. I may not have the name right but I know it's on Yadkin Road and believe it is called Kayoto's. (My pronunciation isn't perfect, eh).
Fayetteville is a small southern town
Fayetteville is a small town despite having a huge military presence. Most of the locals are very courteous and friendly and respond the same. Please remember that there is a town and culture other than the military bases and military personnel who live in Fayetteville. There is so much more to Fayetteville than the military presence.
Carolinarose is Right
Fayetteville is about 49% white, 49% African American, and 2% other. There are also quite a few Hispanics. One thing we do have around here is restaurants. You can sample almost every kind of ethnic food. The Japanese restaurant carolinarose referred to is called Kyoto.
There is an annual event here called the Dogwood Festival. It normally takes place in April and around 100,000 show up. There's also a chance to buy more ethnic food from the vendors.
