The Trio Cafe has some of the best food on offer in Fayetteville. It's certainly considered one of the better restaurants if the many couples there for special occassions was any indication. The interior is nicely and brightly decorated if not with a hint of DIY. The night we were there it was fairly busy with most tables taken and several folks in the bar area enjoying themselves. The food was definitely on the better than average side and was quite a surprise for a place like Fayetteville. The pastas were cooked al dente, something many "authentic" Italian restaurants have no concept of. Salads were fresh and the lettuce crisp.
While great care is obviously taken in the food preparation and execution, less care was spent on service. While waitstaff shouldn't hover, we were practically ignored after being seated. And after finally being asked for our drink orders, it took quite some time for those drinks to be delivered. Our water glasses stood empty for many minutes before they were filled. We were convinced that one second of real time was actually 5 within the confines of the restaurant. We ended up spending nearly 2 hours for a meal that should have taken half that time.
With all that was disappointing with the service, the food was really a lifesaver and worth the wait. So I would recommend going to Trio Cafe, just stay on top of the waitstaff and make sure you are attended to appropriately.
Favorite Dish: Caesar salad, lobster ravioli

We decided against the buffet. Bob went and looked and said it was ordinary, and going to a buffet makes my back hurt. The service was good and cheerful.
Favorite Dish: We decided to get the "Two for $10.99" dinner. Bob vacillated between chicken tenders and liver and onions. He got the chicken and seemed happy with it.
I really didn't feel like anything, but eventually got the Half-O-Pound ground beef. I anticipated that it would be like a grilled like a hamburger, but instead it was a kind of grey patty of ground beef. I got rice so they wouldn't give me mashed potatoes with gravy. I thought the food was like home cooking gone wrong.
I also had hot tea and the meal came with toast which was good. There were no desserts on the menu

Located in a stand alone structure in a Food Lion shopping center, Phai Thai offers up what I would consider good homecooked Thai food. Step inside the unassuming building and walk into a serene setting with a fountain and small pond. Also present are portraits of Thailand's king and queen on the wall behind the front counter. Service is bright and friendly in this obviously family-run restaurant. Spiciness is rated on a scale of 1 to 5. One person in our party who likes spicy dishes only ordered a 2 and said that it was a good thing that she didn't order it at 3 as the dish was quite spicy.
Favorite Dish: Thai tea (iced tea with condensed milk [much better than it sounds]), Wild Pork (a bit salty), Pad Thai, fried tofu appetizer

The Coffee Scene has a nice atmosphere. There are two levels. Seating is mostly chairs downstairs. A winding staircase leads upstairs. Patrons are allowed to smoke in this area. You can relax in a comfy couch/chair. If you feel like playing chess or checkers with a few friends, borrow a copy at the front register. A nice selection of music is played also.
Favorite Dish: The place has a variety of gourmet pastries. So far I haven't tried any. Mocha is my favorite drink.

Chi-Chi's, The Olive Garden, Pizza Inn, Chris's Steak House, and there are so many different restaurants that I can't even begin to name them all. There's an excellent barbeque restaurant off of Cumberland Rd and the All American Freeway and then there is an excellent restaurant in Lumber Bridge.
All of the restaurants seem to be really casual and comfortable. The service is usually prompt and friendly. The meals are almost always delivered fast so they're still hot when ya get 'em. Prices are cheap compared to some places I've lived. Some places have live entertainment, which is nice, some don't that's ok too, cuz ya can mingle with people and get to talkin and making new friends quickly.
Favorite Dish: Filet Mignon, Baby Back Bar-b-q ribs, crablegs, wienerschnitzel, sauerbraten, tostada's, chimichanga's, pizza buffet in Pizza Inn, etc.

On The Boarder Mexican Restaurant
Nice atmosphere, fast friendly service.
Favorite Dish: The Juarrez Chimmichanga, that is probably miss-spelled but it is really good. It is stuffed with mushrooms, peppers, cheese and chicken. Then deep fried. Serve with a very nice rice with corn in it a small salad and beans. Its about $8.00.

Sakura looks like a small Japanese restaurant on the outside but on the inside you can get freshly made sushi for a reasonable price. Being in the military allowed me a unique perspective because I was stationed in Japan. and I tried different restaurants and as far as I can tell not all sushi is made the same. That's why I like Sakura.
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is the spicy tuna roll. I think it's good because you can see it being made and when you eat it, it has slight crunch to it.

This restaurant is a Japanese Steakhouse. On one side you have the steakhouse, on the other side you have a sushi bar. In the steakhouse side, you are seated in a group in front of a grill where a chef comes out and cooks your food in front of you like you would see at Benihana's. The maitre'd, waiters and waitress are all dressed uniformly (white dress shirt and black slacks) It's considered a fancy restaurant so no outside food is allowed.
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish would be the steak and chicken entree.

This Restaurant has the best food, and the people are always smiling and nice. Very polite and helpful with everything. There outside dinning area is so beautiful at night when you can see the stars is breath taking. The waitresses never let your drinks run dry and they always check to see if everything is ok. Wonderful place and atmosphere. The smell of the food is just mouth watering. It is such an excellent place to go.
Favorite Dish: My favorite dishes here is the Panang Curry, Lad-Na, Phai Thai, and the Phai Thai fried rice. The panang curry is like a red soup that is spicy and it comes with white rice on the side. I usually get it with chicken, its so hot. and the Lad-na is fried noodles with broccoli and I usally get that with shrimp or chicken, it like a dumplin type of dish, but very delicious, and the Phai Thai is fried noodles with egg and meat of your choice with peanut spinkles on top, and I get this pretty spicy too. Well Fried rice is fried rice but it is yummy too and spicy with your choice of meats. I love all the food there, their is not a dish that I have tried that I did not like. I'm not much into tofu but they do make a mean dish of that too. Great for vegetarians. Excellent Food always!!!!!
