Favorite thing: I've been in North Carolina for about ten years and having visited Greensboro over the years, I haven't seen much change. It seems to me that the past clings to this place more than others. I'm not sure if this is a reflection of a certain lack willingness in the people to move forward or if it's just a matter of not having enough money and manpower to make this city more vibrant.
Fondest memory: The past is not all bad, however. There are some interesting historical sites to see in the area and it's still a great place to live and raise a family. It's about an hour from North Carolina's capital city, Raleigh and a little over an hour from the state's biggest city, Charlotte. You'll find it at the intersection of I-85 and I-40.

Favorite thing: UNCG is a small and quaint campus with some beautiful foliage and buildings.
Fondest memory: this will be one of my most fondest memories - attending UNCG - because i don't feel like a number. I always see someone i know when i walk around campus.

Favorite thing: go to the Guilford Courthouse Battleground located north of the city. General Nathaniel Greene met General Cornwalis here in a pivotal battle of the Revolutionary War. The park is quiet with lots of walking trails and they often have re-enactment encampments (complete with booming cannonfire).
Fondest memory: Springtime in Greensboro is beautiful. In March the bradford pear and red-bud trees come out followed by daffodils and tulips by the thousands. April brings the azaleas and in May the roses start blooming. Greensboro has several flower-filled parks and most people have a garden, even if it's just a small square with a couple of flowers. Summer can be nice here too, but nothing matches the show in Spring!

Favorite thing: for better or for worse, people love surveys and rankings on the internet. And the travel dating site MissTravel.com has put up some of the "least sexy destinations" in the USA. And right at the top is Greensboro (you can see the full list here.
First I would wonder that the people on MissTravel have a real foundation of sexy and romance (it looks to be a site that matches up rich people wanting to travel with young people wanting to host and "show you around" the area). And thre was no real metrics on how these cities were chosen (and leaving off some other sexy gems like Detroit, Pittsburgh, Dayton, ...).
So, don't believe it! Come to Greensboro and see for yourself that this can be an interesting and fun place to live and visit!
