Jockeys Ridge is a Park in Kitty Hawk that resembles more Desert than Ocean. The Large Dunes serve as a training ground for Hang Gliders. It's a chance to relive the Wright Experience in a modern setting.
The Park is also great to poke around with. In addition to the Dunes, there are some trails as well.
There was no shade to be found and it was extremely hot so pack something to Drink.
I also have this as a must-see activity, but I use this slot so I could get all the fishing information in.
