We were heading back from a camping trip in the mountains and wanted some good, filling food, and someone recommended stopping here. That was a great recommendation. I'm eat Mexican food a lot, so I wasn't sure how this place would be. But the food was delicious, the service was good, the prices were reasonable, and the servings were huge. I don't think I've ever been unable to finish fajitas, until visiting Las Salsas. My friend, who also got fajitas weighed his to-go box when he got home and it was over a pound and he was convinced that he had eaten over half. They also have a great salsa bar with delicious salsas ranging from mild to hot and a great avocado salsa. It's a shame I live almost 200 miles from here or I would visit more often, but I will definitely stop here any time I'm in the area.

Favorite Dish: The fajitas (I pretty much always get fajitas at Mexican restaurants) were exceptionally good. And don't forget to hit the salsa bar and try out the many varieties. The avocado salsa was amazing.

According to geologists, the South Mountains were carved out of the Blue Ridge range by erosion. The park bearing their name encompasses about 100,000 acres in three counties. The mountains once served as a boundary to keep the Cherokee and Catawba Indians, who apparently did not love each other very much, separated and at peace.
