  • Dirty Dick's Crab House

A must. Excellent seafood, fun atmosphere. Numerous crab and shrimp dishes, a steamer menu, plus some landlubber fare. Look for Dick in all of the photos hanging on the walls, and grab a famous T-shirt on your way out. Two locations, plus a carry out store.

Favorite Dish: The best hush puppies we've ever eaten. Now, we're from the Northeast, so we haven't eaten all that many, but these were good!

    Our kitchen

Alow me to explain, well the house cost so much you should cook in and go out a couple of times. Take turns cooking and it won't seem to bad, and every one should help. What can be more wonderful than to eat on your beach front deck over looking the ocean while you eat? Great view with a good price!

    Big Al's

Nice, friendly place to have lunch or a quick dinner. Fifties atmosphere, with a wonderful Coca-Cola collection throughout the restaurant. Soda fountain menu (burgers, melts, salads, seafood, and steaks) plus a children's menu. Eat in or take out. Located in nearby Manteo.

    Happy faces & clean plates

Large seafood buffet featuring shrimp, scallops, tuna, crab legs, plus some landlubber fare as well. Skip the salad, dive right into the dinner! Atmosphere/decor wasn't the greatest, but that's not why you go there. They accept reservations, and the buffet was reasonably priced with children's pricing.

Favorite Dish: Stuffed flounder was great!

  • Quagmire's: Great KDH Oceanfront Restaurant!

This is one of the older restaurant's on the Outer Banks. Lot's of windows looking out onto the ocean, nice bar upstairs.

Favorite Dish: I recommend the fabulous shrimp enchiladas. If you're not a fan of hot food, beware the Chicken Diavolo; it's blazing!
