There are 8 major cities in North Carolina. Of these 8 cities, only 3 of them have any type of nightlife worth going to. They are Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington. The rest: Durham, Asheville, Winston Salem, Greensboro, and High Point. They suck, so don't bother wasting your time. Especially in Durham. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The name of the bar is really called ‘He’s Not Here’. It is described as being on the Village Green. In 1800 I am sure it was, now it is down a small alley way that does actually open up into an outside area. There are a few trees and a little bit of grass. This is a great place for music. They have bands all the time. A great night for live music is usually a Thursday night. A small cover charge is payable. My fraternity (Phi Kappa Sigma) used to rent it out on Thursdays and hire the bands. The cover charge paid the bar, the band and our bar bill. Not bad for just $1. The drink of choice here is the ‘Blue Cup’. 32 ounces of beer. Beer it is then for everyone. The bar is upstairs in a narrow and long building. The toilets from hell are downstairs. Do not forget to collect a bumper sticker that says ‘He’s Not Here’! They are FREE !!!

Sky at night by tpangelinan There's nothing like walking on the beach at night, enjoying the colorful sky, the stars and the moon whiles listening to the ocean waves crash on the shore. It's so peaceful here, it feels like you're the only ones there! Very romantic! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by acemj Greenshields Brewery in Raleigh is a great place to enjoy a handcrafter lager or ale. It's located in Raleigh's historic City Market right in downtown. Check the website for a listing of upcoming live music acts and information on touring the brewery. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: 214 E. by acemj This is the place to be if you're a student at one of the Research Triangles three universities. Franklin Street runs along the edge of the University of North Carolina's campus in Chapel Hill and has plenty of bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and theaters for a long night out. Chapel Hill has some great nightlife and it's all conveniently clustered on Franklin Street. Raliegh has some funky bars as well near Moore Square Park. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

This is a comfy little place that at first I thought was cliqueish because it seemed everyone knew each other. It turned out this was just one more aspect of a lingering small town mentality. That's not a dig it was explained to me by the locals. Good food, reasonable prices for drinks.

We just stayed on the Island and I didnt see any nightlife where I was. And something fun to do, go swimming or in the hot tub right by the pool.

Great music, great bartenders (in summer 1999), great atmosphere, great food! From summer 2000: As a side note - we just got back from Avon and we didn't see that the Froggy Dog was open. We don't know why or we may have missed it while it was open, but their hours have, at the very least, been cut back. They may have even closed.
Typical beach bar, I think. I don't remember any bathing suits, but shorts and t-shirt were okay, I think. Theme: Live MusicDirections: Highway 12, Avon
