HE'S NOT HERE !: HE'S NOT HERE !

by DAO

The name of the bar is really called ‘He’s Not Here’. It is described as being on the Village Green. In 1800 I am sure it was, now it is down a small alley way that does actually open up into an outside area. There are a few trees and a little bit of grass. This is a great place for music. They have bands all the time. A great night for live music is usually a Thursday night. A small cover charge is payable. My fraternity (Phi Kappa Sigma) used to rent it out on Thursdays and hire the bands. The cover charge paid the bar, the band and our bar bill. Not bad for just $1.The drink of choice here is the ‘Blue Cup’. 32 ounces of beer. Beer it is then for everyone. The bar is upstairs in a narrow and long building. The toilets from hell are downstairs. Do not forget to collect a bumper sticker that says ‘He’s Not Here’! They are FREE !!! Who cares?

Downtown: Durham, NC- Downtown

by Shihar

Downtown Durham is great for nighttime entertainment. It's popularity is deserved while Duke students and young professionals gather..Word to the wise... Downtown Durham is really confusing to drive thru even to long time locals. Make sure you know exactly where you are going and how to get back because you don't want to be stuck driving around Durham late at night.

Glenwood South: Raleigh, NC- Glenwood South

by Shihar

This area of the city has really come into it's own in the last few years. You'll find resturants, clubs and bars all along Glenwood Street. The fact that NC state Univ. is nearby lends to many young professionals and college kids being here until early morning on the weekends...

North Carolina Nightlife

by Astrobuck

There are 8 major cities in North Carolina. Of these 8 cities, only 3 of them have any type of nightlife worth going to. They are Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington. The rest: Durham, Asheville, Winston Salem, Greensboro, and High Point. They suck, so don't bother wasting your time. Especially in Durham.

Sky at night

by tpangelinan

There's nothing like walking on the beach at night, enjoying the colorful sky, the stars and the moon whiles listening to the ocean waves crash on the shore. It's so peaceful here, it feels like you're the only ones there! Very romantic!

Greenshields Brewery and Pub: A good local brew

by acemj

Greenshields Brewery in Raleigh is a great place to enjoy a handcrafter lager or ale. It's located in Raleigh's historic City Market right in downtown. Check the website for a listing of upcoming live music acts and information on touring the brewery.

Franklin Street, Chapel Hill

by acemj

This is the place to be if you're a student at one of the Research Triangles three universities. Franklin Street runs along the edge of the University of North Carolina's campus in Chapel Hill and has plenty of bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and theaters for a long night out.

Cafe Europa: Cafe Europa

by dlandt

This is a comfy little place that at first I thought was cliqueish because it seemed everyone knew each other. It turned out this was just one more aspect of a lingering small town mentality. That's not a dig it was explained to me by the locals. Good food, reasonable prices for drinks. Whatever
