Sushi seems to be a trend now in the very conservative Raleigh. The hope is that it is getting better! This will be a one-stop for all Pan Asian restaurant, with very interesting and extensive menus of Thai, Vietnanese, Chinese food and Sushi. We will have a lunch together there tomorrow, so will report back. Lunch: Mon-Fri 11am - 2pm, Sat-Sun 12pm - 3pm; Dinner: Sun-Thu 5pm - 9:30pm, Fri-Sat 5pm – 10 PM
Take a look at their menus online (see website). Leave a Comment

A great spot for pizza, right next to a great spot for coffee. (Third Place) Located in 5 points off of Glenwood Ave, Lilly's is a laid-back place to hang out and eat some fantastic pizza. It can get pretty smoky inside, so I would recommend trying for a patio seat... if you can find a seat!
either the Big Shindig or the Buddha ;)

hip, modern & elegant dining room - but not stuffy or cold. You can go casual or dress up. great service. there is a second part of the restaurant that is the bar & grill- seems to be very popular but we wanted a booth in the main dining room. everything from seafood to pizza.
we visited Michael Deans twice while visiting for 5 days and would have gone back had we discovered it sooner!! the ribs were fantastic. I normally hate bread pudding but this one was to die for...it did not resemble bread pudding at all. I will go back again & again! Leave a Comment

A restaurant unique to North Carolina, NOFO stands for North Fourth St in Wilmington, which is it's first location. It is now open in three cities, each with their with their own tagline: In Raleigh: NOFO at The Pig (the building used to be a Piggly Wiggly grocery store) Wilmington: NOFO at The Forum (actually in Wrightsville Beach) Charlotte: NOFO on Liz Featured in both Southern Living and Our State magazines, this eclectic restaurant is a local favorite. I've been for Sunday bunch, where they serve delicious dishes ranging from the Southern classic shrimp & grits to a crab cake salad. The food was great and reasonably priced, and wandering around the restaurant level as well as the other shopping upstairs was a fun way to finish the meal. All three locations have received numerous awards, but perhaps the most interesting is one for NOFO at The Pig: Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Community Appearance, for Outstanding Contribution Toward Enhancing the Beauty of the City of Raleigh, by Encore Magazine in 2002

This place is by far the best place to eat if you like Mediterranean cuisine. It is not the fanciest restaurant, in fact it is more of a deli style, but I would eat here for lunch in dinner every day. It is truly authentic and offers the freshest food. Everything is made fresh daily and the cafe offers a grocery section for those of you who like to do their own cooking.
The hummus is the best I have ever had. I also love the tatziki, tabouli, grape leaves, and Veggie Moussaka.

It is a small, intimate restaurant, perfect for special occasions. The food is different and delicious. The chef comes up with original and wonderful combinations of flavors.

It is in the Farmer's Market so everything is the freshest.
The breakfast is the best. I didn't have the eggs because I hate them but my friends loved it. Grilled pork tenderloin, grits, biscuits, bacon, pancakes and waffles are good.
