Raleigh has become quite the hockey town, among other things. We are very proud of our Carolina Hurricane's, who won the Stanley Cup in 2006. I am not a big sports person, but I just love going to the games. They are some of the most fun I have ever had. The RBC center is a beautiful facility and you will always stayed entertained watching the the Hurricanes. Tickets are pretty reasonable and easy to get- either through ticketmaster or driving to the RBC center box office. The upper levels range from $25-$50/ticket.
Wear your jersey and bring any hockey gear you want!

I don't know how we ended up with a hockey team; I really don't. But we do have one that plays in the RBC center that just happened to win the Stanley Cup in 2006. Go figure.

North Carolina loves college basketball like the rest of the world loves soccer. Basketball season runs from the fall to the winter, and the biggest month is March, when March Madness takes over and productivity grinds to a halt. The ACC tournament is huge, as four of the ACC schools (NCSU, Duke, Wake Forest, and UNC-CH) are located in the state. Many of the games in the tournament are in the middle of the day, and I remember being rewarded in middle school for good grades and getting to skip class to watch the games. After the regional championships have been decided, the teams playing in the national tournament are decided. NC State is totally going to win this year. Totally. Theme: Sports Watching

The Hurricanes moved down to North Carolina from Hartford (Whalers) a few years back, and since then they made a run for the Stanley Cup (NHL Championship) and lost in a dramatic Game 7 to the Detroit Red Wings. The're not the best team right now, but they have some exciting players like Jeff O'Neil. So check it out if you think ya might enjoy it. Tickets are probably not hard to come by, the team doesn't seem to draw that many people here. Leave a Comment Theme: Sports Watching

Yes, Raleigh has a hockey team. The Carolina Hurricanes play at the RBC center which is out on Wade Ave. to the west of Raleigh. Unfortunately this season there was a lockout and the Hurricanes have been unable to play. Who knows what the future holds. The RBC center is also host to many concerts year round as well as Basketball games. Leave a Comment Theme: Sports WatchingAddress: 1400 Edwards Mill Road

by superWade Come see the Carolina Hurricanes play hockey. If you goto the box office on gameday you may be able to get a ticket for a little over $10. This ticket will of course be in the upper level seats. The beauty of the RBc center is that none of the seats are really bad. This picture was taken from a $10 seat. by superWade Tailgating is a must in the autumn. Football season is by far my favorite time of the year in Raleigh. During the season the colleges from the area (NCSU,UNC,Duke and Wake Forest) will get everyone pumped up from the rivalries.
Bring sunscreen, beer, coolers, radios, sunglasses, team t-shirts and competitive spirit. Leave a Comment Theme: Sports WatchingAddress: Carter-Finley StadiumDirections: off of Wade Ave or Blue Ridge Rd
